More from the Doleh

Firstly, I received a nice he'oroh by old fashioned regular mail from a reader, that the CI's "kullah" about not having to prepare Shabbos candles ahead of time is to be found (al da'as atzmo) in a piece by R' Moshe Sternbuch in Mo'adim u'Zmanim.

Next:

1. RCK holds that when you come late to Selichos it is your personal choice whether to begin at the beginning and catch up or jump in right where the tzibbur is holding (saying Yud Gimmel Middos with the tzibbur in any event).

2. He's pretty makpid on Aleinu b'tzibbur - not like I saw recently in a sefer (was it the Mishneh Halachos? I think so) that as long as your saying something at the time the tzibbur is saying Aleinu that's good enough.

One of the talmidim in OS asked me to write a "crib sheet" on Inyanei Emunah - categories of evidence, emunah peshutah etc. Anything anyone thinks should be included, please let me know.

  1. I think that if you just follow your machshava syllabus and add in some of the details it would be extreamly good.

One of the best emunah/kiruv essays Ive seen so far is Rabbi Gottleib's. He writes on I think 3 or 4 pieces of evidence including the kuzari-argument. Its at lulu.com/reuven.

  2. Is HaRav Chaim Kanievski Shlit"a also makpid about reciting Ashrei b'tzibbur as he is about Aleinu?

  3. The Doleh doesn;t bring anything about Ashrei b'Tzibbur.
